Here we have a particularly finely made 5" gauge GWR 'City of Truro'. Made by John Percival, an extremely prolific model engineer with superb skills and a reputation for locos that all run as well as they look! John very sadly passed away last year, and this was the last of his models that he'd retained.
This model has been on display for a few years in John's dining room, and so we've just put her through the workshop to re-commission her back ready to play on the track. The boiler can have a fresh 4 year hydraulic test and a fresh annual steam test so she's fully sorted and ready to go.
There's an injector fitted, an axle pump with footplate mounted bypass valve and of course the fail safe hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is hydrostatic and fed through a sight feed on the footplate so you can see exactly how much she's getting.
This is a rare opportunity to buy a particularly lovely model and a particularly lovely prototype made by a particularly fine model engineer,..... (I have it on very good authority that he was lovely too!)
